As most locals are aware, there has been a lot of work done at the local Woodville Hall over the last few years. The most obvious has been the renovated kitchen, painting inside, water tank, new awning, new wiring throughout the hall and currently, a brand new roof being fitted to the hall building.
All this work is making this iconic building a wonderful resource for everyone, particularly those who live in the Woodville area. It is also a great resource to the school for concerts, practices, rainy days and visiting shows, especially as it sits next door to the school.
Over the years, the school has always been a part of the organising committee and will continue to do so, but it does take some time and effort to do so,
Without the continuing efforts of the current organising committee--Alison Cox, Janine Thompson and Wayne Patfield, our hall would be a dilapidated, unusable building. They have sourced the funding (many thousands of dollars) through some expert and tireless submissions (these do take some work and time) and ensured the works have been carried out. Wayne, in particular, has spent many hours ensuring all these works are completed including dismantling the old kitchen, tiling, painting, mowing the lawn, being there for the builders, electricians, painters..all tradesman, any day of the week. He has had to see neighbours to seek their approval, and ensure all works are not disturbing anyone. He does this "for the love of it" so we all owe him a debt of gratitude!
The committee is getting tired and they are looking for some extra support. We hope everyone can consider spending some time ensuring all their work can continue--if we have enough support, it is not a big job at all--it's only big because it is left to a few!! If you are interested, please see the school or talk to Alison at the Woodville Store.
